Row, row, row your boat. This identified motto coordinates with a sport known as rowing, and is used moderately by the Tulsa Rowing Club Juniors that consists of numerous students from public and private schools all over Tulsa. Grace Fellowship Christian School senior Tamara Clayton, a 5 year member of the TRCJ, has faced many challenges when it comes down to giving it everything until her team crosses the finish line. "Rowing is very mental. There is a lot of pain involved in the sport. You have to be willing to push yourself through all of the workouts- running, weights, rowing machine, circuits, and other workouts," Clayton said. This remarkable sport requires more than simply rowing a boat gently down a stream; it requires physical endurance, mental and physical strength, team work, and best effort. "In the middle of the race when every single muscle burns, and your body wants to stop, you glance outside your boat at your rivals, and you shove all that pain to the back of your mind and give it all 'til the finish," Clayton said. The competition is broad for the Tulsa Rowing Club Juniors, but they have been said to be a "team to watch for" through out the central states. Rowing is a team sport, and each team member depends on not only themselves but the other members of the group through out the entire race. "You can't let your team down. You just row," Clayton said.
