No upsets in first round girls State bracket

Everything went as expected in the opening round of the Class AA State Girls Soccer Tournament as all four top seeds advanced to the Metrodome after their inaugural games. Top-seeded Woodbury earned a 2-0 victory over Suburban East Conference rival Mounds View, with Eastview outlastings Lake Conference foe Lakeville South, 2-1, in its first game. No. 3 seed Eden Prairie downed Buffalo, 1-0, with Wayzata shutting out Coon Rapids, 2-0. All four teams now move to the Metrodome for the Class AA semfinals with Woodbury facing Wayzata on Oct. 28 at noon, with Eastview and Eden Prairie to play immediately following. The State final will be Oct. 30 at p.m., with the third-place game to take place at 8 a.m.
