Hamilton Field in Stillwater was built and put in use in 1948. The stadium has seen many great players over the years including current Colorado Rockies baseball player Matt Holliday. The new stadium will feature an eight-lane track, new stadium lights that keep the light on the field limits spillage, and a new student section in the front of the bleachers. The new stadium will seat 4,000 on the home side with 800 of those being reserved seating. The visitor side will seat 2,000. A delegation from Stillwater consisting of band director Kevin Zamborsky, head football coach Rusty Atkins, girls soccer coach John Fields, facilities coordinator John Anders, athletic director Mike Simpson, and school board members Rick Davenport and Kevin Clark, toured four stadiums in Texas to see what schools with similar enrollments have built recently. Stadiums in the cities of Coppell, Wylie, South Lake and Little Elm, Texas were toured. Little Elm's stadium was the closest to what Stillwater is currently building. The new stadium will be ready for the 2009 season. The booster club is selling T-shirts in honor of Hamilton Fields final season. The field will still be used for other athletics and as a practice field. The design for the new stadium was prepared by the SHW Group.
