Apple Valley back at No. 1

St. Paul, MN

Wednesday, September 24, 2008

As section playoffs edge ever closer, the Apple Valley boys soccer team was re-installed as the No. 1 team in the latest state coaches poll as the 13-1 Eagles took back the top spot from Lake Conference rival Eden Prairie, who delivered Apple Valley its only defeat earlier in September. Four regular-season games remain for the Eagles, including a matchup against Bloomington Jefferson this Saturday in a contest that will most probably determine the Lake Conference title. Apple Valley is 6-1 in league play, the Jaguars — 8-2-2 overall — are 4-0-2 in the Lake. Game time for the Eagles and Jaguars tilt is set for 3 p.m. at Bloomington Stadium, which is located on the northwest corner of West 90th St. and Penn Ave. South.
