Union Prevails in Overtime

After Union jumped off to a big start when Thomas Roberson scores on a 42 yard reverse for a touchdown. Still in the first quarter Union's quarterback, Chase Boyce, ran it in from one yard out and after the extra point the score was, 14-0. Jenks' first drive came to an end when Randy Stanley intercepted the ball that bounced off of two players. It was Zach Horn's first interception of the year. Cody Mumma added a 27 yard field goal for the Trojans in the second quarter to make the score, 14-3 at halftime. Union came out in the third quarter and Kevin Wallace added his own 27-yard field goal to keep the lead at 14 points. Quarterback Beau Marsaln entered the game late in the third quarter. When the fourth quarter began not many people gave the Trojans a chance until Marsaln started firing the ball. He threw two touchdwons to Tramaine Thompson, one for 16 yards and the other for 54 yards. The first extra point was no good so the Trojans were forced to go for two to tie the game. Marsaln ran it in and the score was ties, 17-17. Union would get one last chance to win in regulation. Wallace lined up to kick a 40-yard field goal, but the kick bounced off the upright and the game went into overtime. Union had the first possession and wasted no time punching one in. Jeremy Smith jammed it into the middle of the Trojan defense for the touchdown and the extra point was good. It came down to a fourth down play for the Trojans in overtime to stay in the game. It was fourth and two, Marsaln rolls out to his left then the Redskin defense swarmed the quarterback and sacked Marsaln for a 12-yard loss by Daniel Hausher. Union finished the game with 153 yards in the air and 159 on the ground. Jenks only had 90 yards on the ground, but passed for 188. Tracy Moore from Union was named MVP.
