Here are the top 5 games of the weekend: 1. Norman North(1-0) at Muskogee(1-0) Muskogee has owned the Timberwolves the past two yyears, winning three times. Two of those wins came in the playoffs. But this year Norman North has much more talent, with quarterback Tyler Tettleton and running back Beau Blankenship, and is the favorite to win the game. It could be a big step for the Timberwolves to prove that they are a state title contendor this year. 2. Edmond Memorial(1-0) vs. Edmond Santa Fe(1-0) at Wantland Stadium There possibly might not be a better rivalry in the state than the Edlam rivalry. This week it's the two best teams in Edmond trying to see who is No. 1 in the city. There will be lots of fans in the stands for this one. Watch for standout running backs Anthony Morales of Memorial and Randy Ponder of Santa Fe. 3. Kingfisher(1-0) at Tuttle(1-0) This game has become a big rivalry over the past several years when they each werte battling for the Class 3A state championship. But Kingfisher is now in 2A. It doesn't change that fact that both teams have lots of talent and always play a hard fought game against each other. Watch for running back Paco Moore of Tuttle and fullback/linebacker Nathan Grabow of Kingfisher. 4. Millwood(1-0) vs. Douglass(1-0) on Saturday at Taft Stadium The Soul Bowl is one of the most historic matchups in the state. Whether the teams are good or not, they battle hard. But both teams have started this season well with wins and both are expected to be contendors for playoff spots this year. 5. Bishop Kelley(1-0) at Bishop McGuinnes(0-1) It's the battle of the catholic schools and there is no love lost in this matchup. McGuinness looks to get back on the winning track after having its 28-game winning streak snapped in a loss to Guthrie last week. Tulsa Kelley has lost four straight games in this matchup, but have a much more talented team than in those other matchups.
