Coach Wright is the gold standard among the coach of Hamilton County, With 341 wins to date. Hamilton County has many super coaches with the like of Carmel's Mo Moriarity 218 wins, Fishers Rick Wimmer 173 wins, and Noblesville Lance Scheib 99 win. Clearly Bud is the king of the hill in wins, in the coach rich football ranks of Hamilton County. Winning always look to come easy at Sheridan year after year. Bud as coach at Sheridan Blackhawk, He as tailed 341 wins in his career ranks 2nd all time in the State of Indiana, only behind Jaspers Jerry Brewer who won 368 during his career. Currently the Blackhawks has won 39 in a row, trying to catch the state Record of 60, set by Bloomington teams of (1967-1973). He has led Sheridan to 10 state final games winning the State Crown 9 times. Bud is the all time leader in state Championship with nine in his career. He came to Sheridan 43 years ago with 1 win under his belt and 340 wins later, his team look strong once again currently #1 on class 1A  3-0 thought far in 2008. Over the years the names of the player have change in this small Hamilton County school, but the Sheridan strong hold continues season after season. In 1988 season and 1989 season bud's team was lead by Brett Law 2 back to back state championships. and 2005-2007 Sheridan has won 3 states in a row lead by IU recruit Nick Zachary. With 9 Indiana state crowns, and collecting 341 wins and counting, for Coach Bud Wright, He is the Gold standard not only in Hamilton County, but the state of Indiana high school State Football.
