GIRLS GOLF Roncalli took full advantage of its opportunities and ran away with the Marion County girls golf tournament, ending Brebeuf's four-year title run. The Rebels shot a 319 and topped Franklin Central by 26 strokes. Roncalli freshman Anna Gleixner shot a 75 to place third, while senior Erin Buckley was fourth with a 76. Maggie Flynn of Brebeuf shot a 1-under 69 to claim medalist honors - included in her card were two birdies and a fantastic eagle on the 10th hole, a par-4, 230-yard challenge. Elsewhere, Noblesville topped No. 20 Fishers and Anderson Highland in a tri-match, just a day after the Millers took third place in the Hoosier Crossroads Conference tournament. Noblesville shot a 170, while Fishers shot a 180 and Highland a 243. Emily Podzielinski won medalist honors with a 37. Mt. Vernon shot a 201 to defeat Guerin Catholic by two shots in a dual match yesterday. Erin Meister won medalist honors for Guerin, shooting a 41. BOYS TENNIS Guerin Catholic boosted its team record Tuesday to to .500 with a 5-0 win against Ritter. BOYS CROSS COUNTRY North Central's Futsum Zeinasellassie won the Artesian Classic on Saturday with a time of 15:25 - the best time in the state this year. It was also the No. 2 time in school history. Zeinasellassie led the Panthers to the event title, topping Columbus North and Chesteron in the process. North Central also won the Chatard Invitational last week and could be considered one the top boys cross country teams in the state.
