Edina soccer is on it's way to the top in both the boys and girls divisions. The boys jumped to the No. 2 spot from No. 6 last week and the girls are now sitting at No. 3 after not being ranked in the first-ever polls. The boys are off to an undefeated season with their only blemish, a tie, against St. Paul Central on Aug. 30. Scoring is coming from across the board with Kristian Reiersgord leading the team with eight goals and one assist. The assist leader with six is Spencer Duhaime who has also chipped in three goals for the Hornets. Other multi-point players after X games are Matt Abrahamson, Tucker Johnson, Kevin Goerne, Reed Adler and Jake Stark. The 4-0 girls team takes on Lakeville South Wed. and should be a good test for the Hornets as they've outscored their opponents 20-1. Leading the team with seven goals and five assists is Julie Sierks. Meredith Finsand has contributed eight points - half goals and half assists, while Corinne Buie has given the Hornets a total of five points. Erin Connors, Holly Wollesen, Cara Gulbronson, Karly Whitsitt and Olivia Lavercombe have each contributed with points as well. Callan Faulkner has stood tall in the net with a 100% save percentage after seeing 11 shots.
