After a sensational start, get ready for more football tonight. Week 2 is here! Match-ups of interest around Central Indiana include (all kickoffs at 7 p.m. unless otherwise noted): Brebeuf @ Guerin Brownburg @ Noblesville Beech Grove @ Park Tudor Center Grove @ Perry Meridian Decatur Central @ Pike Fishers @ Hamilton Southeastern Indian Creek @ Greenwood Indiana School for the Deaf @ Lutheran Arlington @ Whiteland Manual @ Mooresville Roncalli @ Franklin Central Washington @ Franklin Tech @ Howe Lawrence Central @ North Central Lawrence North @ Plainfield Lebanon @ Carmel Pendleton Heights @ Greenfield Central Sheridan @ Hamilton Heights Triton Central @ Heritage Christian Saturday - Warren Central and Cathedral will play in the Kirk Herbstreit Classic Notes of interest: While it seems as though many are waiting for the Class 5A showdown next week between No. 1 Carmel and No. 3 Center Grove, don't sleep on some of this week's match-ups. For example, in Class 2A, No. 2 Heritage Christian (1-0) hosts Triton Central (1-0). While Heritage Christian won its opener against Elwood, 48-0, don't be surprised if Triton Central comes in and upsets the Eagles on their home turf. Triton Central defeated Eastern Hancock 55-21 last week. In Week 2 of the 2007 regular season, Triton topped Heritage Christian 21-14, but Heritage returned the favor in sectionals, winning 31-3. These two will again be two of the best locally in Class 2A and this is definitely a game to watch for offensive purposes alone. Speaking of Class 2A, one of Triton Central's chief rivals, Indian Creek (1-0), travels to Greenwood (0-1) for an interesting showdown between Class 2A and Class 4A. While the Braves blasted Edinburgh 54-0 last Friday, Greenwood struggled in a 52-0 loss against 4A No. 1 Columbus East. It would be a big win for Indian Creek to top a 4A team on their home turf. It is the first meeting ever between the two Johnson County schools. Looking a rivalry game? Head to Hamilton Southeastern, where the Royals (1-0) host school corporation rival Fishers (1-0). The Tigers, coming off a huge win against Noblesville at Lucas Oil Stadium last Friday, are eager to face HSE. Since falling to the Royals last year in Week 2, Fishers is 7-2. HSE is also coming off a big win over Hoosier Crossroads Conference foe Avon at Lucas Oil last Saturday. It will be interesting to see if both teams have a mental and emotional letdown following the hoopla last week. Whoever can maintain that determination and focus will win tonight's match-up. At our VYPE featured tailgate game of the week, Roncalli (1-0) travels to Franklin Central (1-0). Last year's game was a classic, an overtime battle that ended with the Flashes celebrating a 22-16 win - their first in four tries against Roncalli. Watch for Franklin Central running back Delmar Kelly, who admirably replaced Indiana University freshman and FC grad Darius Willis last week with 178 yards on 31 carries.
