Tom Young, the only coach in Kansas to win state football titles at three different schools (Hanover, Wellington, Derby), could catch Ed Kriwiel in all-time coaching wins with an 11-win season in 2008 at McPherson. Jake Sharp of Salina Central, now a tailback at Kansas, took the title in 2005, before Logan Dold of Garden Plain, entering Kansas State as a freshman this fall, blew them both away in 2007. Entering his senior season this fall, Bryce Brown of Wichita East could bypass them all, even though he has played in only one state playoff game, while Dold, Sharp and Seiwert made it all the way through the playoffs to the state title game at least twice each.
