Ravenscroft Basketball Player Commits to UNC-W

Ravenscroft senior basketball player Matt Wilson has announced his verbal commitment to play basketball for the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Wilson cannot sign his binding National Letter of Intent until the first day of the official early signing period that runs Nov. 12-19, 2008. Wilson (6-11, 220 lbs.), averaged 6.8 points and 4.2 rebounds per game for the Ravens during the 2007-08 season. He was also named to the 2007-08 TISAC All-Conference Team. "It's definitely an exciting time for me, and I am very confident about my decision to attend UNC-Wilmington," said Wilson. "I feel like I can make an immediate impact right away. I would also like to thank my coach at Ravenscroft, Kevin Billerman, for helping me improve as a player and realize my dream of playing college basketball." In addition to UNC-Wilmington, Wilson had narrowed his list of schools to College of Charleston, Davidson, N.C. State, and South Carolina.
