TTCU Hits a Homerun with Area School Support

Friday, August 1, 2008

There are so many ways to support local schools and communities. Booster clubs, fundraisers, sports programs, and donations are some of the more common ways. TTCU has found an even better way to support the schools in Green Country. With the School Pride Visa Check card, TTCU gives its members the opportunity to select a local school and for every transaction, TTCU makes a donation to that respective school. Talk about an easy way to support the schools and community. "We always say that it pays to be a member at TTCU," says Kristi Cohea, vice president of marketing and member relations. "With the School Spirit Check Cards, we are able to give back to the schools on behalf of our members." Along with the "It pays to be a member" slogan, TTCU also pays back cash dividends to their members with the Member Participation Rewards Program. Since Day One, TTCU has been a big supporter of Vype High School Sports Magazine. "We couldn't be happier with the relationship with TTCU," said Editor-in-Chief Austin Chadwick. "Their commitment to the schools and the community of Green Country is apparent in all the different ways they (TTCU) brand themselves. They are true community supporters." As a full-service financial institute, TTCU provides members with all banking services, investment programs, and financial services. Whether it is saving for a child's college fund, or teaching children to effectively use a checking account, members have the opportunity to use TTCU in more than one capacity. "Teaching kids how to manage a bank account is so challenging," said Cohea. "We provide members the opportunity to open an account for their children, while capping the amount of money that can be spent on a check card. Parents can also check the balance and activities of the account instantly. As a mother, this was the best way to teach my son Austin about using a bank account." TTCU believes that marketing and branding with education is a cornerstone of how the credit union is perceived in the community. "Our core membership was founded by teachers," Cohea explained. "With that, education is always extremely high on our priority list. That is a big reason why we support area high school sports." With five locations in Tulsa, and four more in Owasso, Tahlequah, Jenks and Broken Arrow, TTCU is becoming a household name in providing the banking services that parents and children need. With two more area locations starting up within the next year in Claremore and Bixby, the credit union is growing and meeting the demands of the community. For more information visit www.ttcu.com.
