Megan Herbert is used to scoring points. The Shiloh Christian graduate and future UCA Sugar Bear, averaged 25.5 points per game in her state championship season and Thursday night was no different. Starting off slow in the first half, Herbert caught fire in the fourth and fifth (All-Star special) periods, finishing with 15 points and 6 rebounds.
“It’s amazing that I got to play with all of those girls, they are all great and we all bonded,” said Herbert.
Herbert along with Lake Hamilton’s Jessica Weatherford helped the West battle back from an early deficit and eventually lead the team to a 15-point victory 80-65.
Weatherford was named the West side’s outstanding player and Beebe’s Ty O’Neill took the honor for the East. Herbert in her last high school performance was awarded overall MVP.
“You really get a new outlook on basketball, because you only have four days to practice with the girls and you don’t know them. It really helps you in the game,” added Herbert.
For a group of ladies that didn’t know each other, the West All-Stars put on a show for those in attendance at Bud Walton Arena.
