VYPE Select 7-on-7: Friday's Scores

FAYETTEVILLE — A pair of Arkansas private schools were the only teams to survive the first day of pool play unbeaten during the first annual VYPE Select 7-on-7 Tournament, presented by McDonald's, at the University of Arkansas. Pulaski Academy, led by senior quarterback Spencer Keith (pictured), posted a 6-0 mark with wins against Bentonville, Russellville, Greene County Tech, Blue Valley, Mo., Arkansas Baptist and Rogers Heritage. Shiloh Christian, led by sophomore quarterback David Matthews, went 6-0 with wins against Des Arc, Gentry, Fayetteville, Bryant, Siloam Springs and Lake Hamilton. Several interesting matchups wrap up pool play Saturday with three rounds of games beginning at 9:25 a.m. A single-elimination tournament will begin at 1 p.m. with the finals set for 5 p.m. At 10 p.m., two teams picked by VYPE Magazine to win their respective classifications square off inside the Walker Pavilion when Class 5A Pulaski Academy hooks up with Class 4A Lonoke.
