North-South All-Star Series heads to Notre Dame

If you care to take a weekend trip to the northern part of our state, this coming weekend, July 12-13, might just be the time to do so. Notre Dame's Frank Eck Stadium will be hosting the 2008 Indiana North-South All-Stars baseball series, featuring several local talents on the diamond and the best from around the state. The games kick off with the Junior Showcase at 8:00 a.m. on July 12 (played at Bethel College), with Game 1 of the North-South series starting at 4:30 p.m. at Notre Dame. Then, Game 2 of the series will immediately follow at 7:30 p.m. But that's not all. Sunday the 13th will feature the Homerun Contest at 11:00 a.m. and the final game of the North-South series, Game 3, is set to be played at 2:00 p.m. For the players, the festivities get underway on Friday night with the annual All-Star banquet beginning at 6:00 p.m. with a special guest. Dave Schrage, head coach at Notre Dame, will be addressing the banquet as a keynote speaker.
