Twist and Shout (and Yell and Tumble)

You've seen the cheerleaders on the sidelines on game nights. You've seen the tumbling and the cheering and the yelling. But you've never seen them practice. That's what Twist and Shout is all about. Founded by owner and former Oklahoma gymnast and cheerleader Orson Sykes, Twist and Shout is the brains and the spirit behind some of the top cheerleading schools in the area - including Putnam North, Westmoore, Oklahoma Christian, Bishop McGuinness, Deer Creek, Mustang, Yukon, Edmond Santa Fe, U.S. Grant and others. A staff of 22 instructors, all of them certified coaches and most cheerleaders from local colleges, direct everything from team camps to individual training for high schoolers as well as children as preschoolers. Meanwhile, Twist and Shout also features an All-Star cheer team that has won more than 50 national championships in a number of different age groups. Co-ed teams also are featured at Twist and Shout.
