Jordan Cyphers Named Male Athlete of the Year

Wichita Southeast shooting guard Jordan Cyphers was named the Barry Sanders Male High School Athlete of the Year Friday night at the Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission banquet. Cyphers, who led Southeast to the 6A state basketball title, will play at Utah next year. Cyphers' parents accepted the award on his behalf, as he was not able to make it back from Utah, where he is participating in summer workouts. Cyphers led the City League in scoring, averaging over 20 points per game, and was a consensus all-stater.
