Last year's win total of six was the lowest since 2001. However, the Mustangs showed they could play with big boys as they successfully made the jump to Class 5A after realignment with a second-place finish in the 5A-West. Central Arkansas Christian finished in a three-way tie for runner-up with Siloam Springs and Alma behind league winner Greenwood. To be mentioned in the same breath as those three teams shows that last year's 6-5 mark and playoff appearance was impressive.
