We know how the dictionary defines courage, but my definition of courage is simple and short:

One man, one name, our Bronco brother, “Sway” better known as AJ Cutler.

AJ came up against what may be the biggest struggle of his life, and has taught many people in Mustang what true courage is. His summer started out with football camps, work, and dreams of snagging touchdown passes for the Broncos. This was his year to shine.

That all ended in a work-related accident that left him in the hospital for over a month. After enduring several surgeries, AJ lost his right leg. More surgeries followed along with the fitting of a prosthetic leg.

Today AJ has learned to walk with his prosthetic leg. He also spends countless hours daily in physical therapy and still attends school. These days after school, you will find him in the Broncos gym hoopin’ it up with his teammates during practice.

He plans on contributing to the basketball team on the court by the end of the season, and I have no doubt that he will. He would also like to become proficient at skateboarding, another goal I know he will attain. His valor and determination are an inspiration to everyone who knows him.

After graduation AJ will attend college and achieve much more in his lifetime than anyone including himself could ever imagine.
