We held our ribbon cutting ceremony in St. Paul at Mancini’s Char House (which I highly recommend) on Tuesday night, Nov 6th. I have to admit that I wasn’t expecting many to show-up but was pleasantly surprised to see many friends, coaches, parents, and players in attendance. A special thank you goes out to The St. Paul Chamber of Commerce for conducting the ribbon cutting. It is great to know that we have their support as we start this new endeavor in the St. Paul community. We also appreciated our partner and sponsor, Channel Forty5, for showing their support.

The evening started off a little slow as the beads of sweat began to form on my forehead. Months of time and energy have gone into this project and I started to question whether or not St. Paul would support a magazine about high school sports. As a few started to trickle in, I saw a few familiar faces and my worries began to fade. Some were there to support us and some were there because they had an interest in what the magazine was going to look like. We had been telling people all about the high-gloss publication we were putting out, but I think people were wondering if it was just going to be another newspaper rag. Even the people that came out for the free food and beverages took notice of the quality of our publication!

The general consensus has been that this is a very nice publication and people wonder how we can afford to give it away for free. We survive only because of the advertisers and sponsors and it was great to see a few of them there that night. Many kind words were spoken including a brief impromptu speech by Bob Giannini. “I think you guys have done a great job and the kids are going to love it. We all need to support this.” This night set the stage for what I hope will be an entertaining and unique magazine for your community. In future issues you will being hearing from more and more individuals as the word continues to spread about High School Sports The Magazine. Tell your friends and neighbors about our publication and send in those story ideas and pictures. If you desire to write a story yourself, please submit it to editor.stpaul@hsstm.com.
I was very pleased with our inaugural issue and we will continue to get better each month. Thanks for your support St. Paul!!!

With warmest thanks
