HSSTM/VYPE Goes Camping

Now Offense-Defense Sports and VYPE High School Sports Magazine have two things in common - a passion for high school football and their names on Most Valuable Player trophies. VYPE High School Sports Magazine has agreed to sponsor the MVP award for Offense-Defense Football Camps. VYPE will provide the hardware for the top player from camp while O-D will produce the athletes. ``Being in the NFL, and understanding what Offense-Defense does, it makes for a great strategic partnership,'' said Kenyatta Wright, VYPE corporate Senior Director for Strategic Development, a veteran of the NFL. ``We and O-D share the common goal of helping young athletes pursue their dream of achieving excellence and we want to honor them.'' VYPE will present the 2-foot, 10-inch stainless steel award to the top player who emerges from O-D Football Camp in Indianapolis this week. VYPE will also present the award at camps held in Tampa, Miami, Baltimore and New York, just to name a few. The top honor is voted on by the camp coaches. O-D conducts 60 football camps in 35 U.S. cities. ``We are thrilled to have VYPE High School Sports Magazine join us in honoring the best players who come from our camps,'' said O-D Sports president Rick Whittier. ``It has always been a great award, but now the top camper from each city will have a trophy that will help him remember his experience for a lifetime.'' O-D Football Camps, the official football camp of the NFL Coaches' Association, was recently named the No. 1 summer sports camp by Sports Illustrated for Kids. Conducting camps since 1969, O-D lists NFL stars Peyton Manning, Ben Roethlisberger, Terrell Owens and Ray Lewis among its alumni.
