Lucas Oil Stadium to Host Regular-Season Football Events

This fall, high school football will once again sieze the spotlight at Lucas Oil Stadium.

In August, the state-of-the-art facility will play host to the 10th Annual Peyback Classic and the Hoosier Classic. On Saturday, September 12, Ivy Tech Invitational will feature four games. On Saturday, Oct. 10, eight conference rivals will clash in the Hoosier Heritage Conference Classic.

The 10th Annual Peyback Classic, established by Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning in 2000, will be held on Friday, Aug. 21, to open the high school football season. Six teams will be featured, including Indianapolis Arsenal Tech vs. Arlington at 3:30 p.m., Greenwood and Columbus East at 6:05 p.m., followed by Lebanon vs. Mooresville.

Local sales and marketing firm Compton Strategies will present the Hoosier Classic on Saturday, Aug. 29, along with the Ivy Tech Invitational and the HHC Classic.

A total of 23 schools and teams from 16 different Central Indiana counties will participate in the trio of events.

Guerin Catholic and Brebeuf Jesuit will kickoff the Hoosier Classic at noon, followed by Edgewood vs. North at 2:45 p.m. and Noblesville vs. Brownsburg at 5:30 p.m. Martinsville and Bloomington South will conclude the event at 8 p.m.

The Ivy Tech Invitational will highlight two key rivalries in Bishop Chatard vs. Cathedral at 2:45 p.m. and Warren Central vs. Ben Davis at 8 p.m. A matchup between New Palestine and Batesville opens the Invitational at noon while Mooresville and Franklin tangle at 5:30 p.m.

New Palestine returns to Lucas Oil Stadium in October for the Hoosier Heritage Conference Classic where they will face Greenfield-Central at 11 a.m. Yorktown and Shelbyville play at 1:45 p.m. Rushville and Pendleton Heights clash at 4:30 p.m. while Delta and Mount Vernon (Fortville) cap the event at 7:30 p.m.
