Nationally Ranked Team Ends East's Title Bid

Nationally ranked Spring Branch Smithson Valley ended Plano East's bid for a state title despite senior pitcher Taylor Jones allowing only two hits. The second hit, a bloop single by Kayla Booker with no outs in the bottom of the 10th, scored pinch runner Brennan Bowman from second base and gave Smithson Valley a 1-0 win in a state 5A semifinal.
