Plano Cheer Wins National Title

The Plano Wildcats cheerleaders won the Small Coed Varsity division in the ACA National Championship. It is the third ACA national title in four years for the Wildcats.

“We’re so proud of our kids for their hard work and dedication,” varsity cheer sponsor Leah Major said. “We had three extremely talented choreographers who pushed our team to their limits in every way. The kids had to work hard on both their skills and endurance for a routine of that intensity.”

The Wildcats’ winning two-minute routine consisted of tumbling, stunts and a cheer. It included twists, flips and stunts.

Led by squad captains Caitlin McGuire and Caroline Cockerell, the team performed a compilation of pop songs ranging from Justin Timberlake to Christina Aguilera.
