Andale (13-0) 52-7 vs. Louisburg (13-0) 21-14 Salina District Stadium, 1:00 p.m. Not many teams can go 12-0 without clicking. When Andale finally put it together in their 13th game of the season at sub-state against Ulysses, they were overwhelming. The passing game went wild, and the defense bent but didn't break. Brett Macari found a second favorite target against Ulysses, as Ethan Ungles, who has 888 receiving yards this season, was double-teamed. Tailback Kyle Horsch, whose battled an ankle injury that forced him out of four regular season games, tortured Ulysses as a wideout, and Wayne Clutter also got into the passing game mix. Make no mistake: Ulysses was a good football team. They ran the ball up and down the field, but Andale would not let them score. A turnover here, a stop there: it was enough. And their offense was more than enough. Their 52-7 win over Ulysses was never in doubt. And that should put a ton of fear into their title-game oppenent, Louisburg. The defending state champs are more versatile than a year ago, and no less dominant. They proved that Saturday night. This a team stacked with seniors, including stars Ungles, Macari, Horsch and Levi Neelly on offense and Matt Fairchild on defense. Their lines, including Lucas Hein and Calin Archer, are veteran and dominant. Two straight titles will be the perfect way to end their careers.
