Michael Dyer publicly committed to Auburn Friday morning after revealing he pledged to the Tigers’ coaching staff this summer during just his second visit to the campus.
“(The coaches) have a good relationship with their kids, and there is a lot of love and respect there,” the Little Rock Christian running back said. “That’s what I was looking for, and I felt like the university had something to offer. I knew right away that is where I wanted to be.”
The announcement came as little surprise. Dyer favored Auburn all summer and during a TV interview before the season he hinted he had made his decision. When asked to narrow his choice to one, he said “Auburn.”
When conflicting reports surfaced about Dyer’s commitment last week, Dyer exclusively told VYPE he planned to make his Auburn pledge public in conjunction with Friday’s Under Armour All-American Game press conference. Before Dyer made his announcement, game officials presented Dyer and teammate Dakota Mosley with commemorative game jerseys. They also honored LRC coach Justin Kramer for his selection to the game’s coaching staff. The game is played Jan. 2 at Tropicana Field
The 5-foot-9, 205-pounder became the state’s all-time leading rusher two weeks ago. Dyer has rushed for 7,566 yards and 74 touchdowns.

Mosley has not made his decision. The 6-foot-5, 265-pound tight end/defensive end has offers from Tennessee, Auburn, Florida State, Louisiana Tech and Tulsa.
“I’m not sure yet. I like Auburn, and I like Tennessee and Florida State has just popped up,” Mosley said. “I want to make the visits and think it over and make sure I make the right decision.”
Dyer said he has been recruiting his friend to join him at Auburn and will continue to push.
