Shortstop Matt Puhl drove in six runs total as the North St. Paul baseball team swept a split doubleheader at Kunkel Field on Tuesday. The senior hit a grand slam homer run through the rain in an 8-1 defeat of Spring Lake Park during the afternoon contest, then went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and two more driven in through an 11-1 nightcap triumph against Minneapolis Washburn. North pitcher Andrew Gunderson pitched a complete game to earn his first win of the season in the Panthers contest, striking out two and allowing four hits while outfielder John Cicchese drove in three runs with a 2-for-4 turn at the plate. Starter Kevin Brown notched his second victory against the Millers by scattering four hits with six strikeouts in a five-inning, complete-game performance. The Polars improved their record to 10-6 with the pair of wins.
