The Wakefield girl’s volleyball team won the Cap 7 title after defeating Enloe on Oct. 21. The Wolverines beat Enloe 3-0 and rank 3rd in the state.
Katie Slay, a senior middle blocker for Wakefield, says Enloe was up for a bit on the second set, but she attributes her team’s win to their strengths offensively and in blocking.
“[Enloe] has always been a tough team with a lot of great players,” said Slay.
Slay’s season average for kills is 396, and Wakefield sophomore and Outside Hitter Bryn Pfeiffer has racked up a season average of 55 aces and 424 assists. Grace Cho, a sophomore Libero, has an average of 170 digs. Wakefield will be a formidable opponent for Wake Forest-Rolesville, who has a game against Wakefield on Thursday. Wakefield also beat Jordan and Middle Creek after the Enloe game.
