Mud-loving Whitfield lifts Manual 2-1

Casey Whitfield's white uniform was nearly brown, and she could barely feel her legs, but she didn't care. The Manual High School junior scored the deciding goal with 6:52 to play and assisted on the third-ranked Crimsons' other one to lift the "Mudders" to a 2-1 victory over No.11 Elizabethtown in the Sub-Section Three girls' soccer match Tuesday at Male.
