Mansfield Delivers Playoff Shocker

Probably the biggest upset of the bi-district playoffs took place Friday night in Stephenville, where Mansfield won its first ever playoff game - knocking off the No. 3 team in the state. Abilene came into the game 10-0 and was called the "hottest team in the nation" by MaxPreps. That didn't matter to Mansfield. The Tigers drove 80 yards in the fourth quarter to score the game-winning touchdown. Stepfam Taylor rumbled into the end zone from 15 yards out and the Tigers defense secured the win by keeping a potent Abilene offense from scoring again. Mansfield, under first-year head coach Jeff Hulme, will face El Paso Montwood in the Area round next week.
