Lamar and Colleyville Heritage each sit alone atop their respective district standings.
The Lady Vikings kept sole possession first place in District 4-5A Tuesday with a five-set victory over a game Mansfield squad. Lamar hadn’t won a five-game match all season prior to Tuesday night, but the Lady Vikes squeezed out a 16-14 triumph after almost letting a two-games-to-none lead slip away. The Lady Tigers won games three and four to force the deciding fifth set. Lamar (23-10, 5-0) now has a one-game lead over Arlington and Martin in the district standings.
Meanwhile, Colleyville Heritage (27-7, 6-0) also almost let a 2-0 lead get away, as Keller Central rebounded to force a fifth game against the Lady Panthers in a vital 5-5A clash. The Lady Panthers emerged in the end, though, asserting themselves as the team everyone else in 5-5A must catch. Amanda Anderson led Heritage with 17 kills.
