In what could be a preview of the District 7-4A championship game, Dunbar (East) met Arlington Heights (West) at Scarborough-Handley Stadium Friday night in what was technically a non-district game for the two cross-town rivals. Dunbar used two big plays from Darius White to hold off the Jackets 27-20. White dazzled the crowd with an 85-yard punt return for a touchdown in the second quarter, and then took a pass 88 yards for a score in the second half.
