Eastern Oklahoma, OK

Tulsa Central High School senior Lee Prince might not get the recognition he deserves as a golfer at a school like Central, but he has made a big name for himself as one of the top players in the area.
“Lee is just one of those kids that as a coach you’re fortunate enough to come across that you really enjoy coaching and seeing progress each year,” said Central head coach Nicole Garrett. “He is a tremendous young man who is very dedicated and works hard to improve his game.”
Prince, who will attend the University of Oklahoma and major in engineering, has a long list of achievements. He captured top honors at the Tulsa World Junior Tournament in 2007, was the champion of the Owasso Golf and Athletic Club Tournament in 2007, the Al Brooks Metro Junior Golf Classic champion, and the PGA Junior Skills Challenge champion.
Prince also earned the First Tee National Academy’s Dr. William Powell Outstanding Male Leader Award, shot a round of 66 at Mohawk Golf Course in 2007, shot a 35 on the front nine at Pebble Beach. He qualified for the state tournament as an individual during his sophomore year.
“I feel like I’ve made a lot of improvements in my game as a senior,” Prince said. “My putting has gotten a lot better. I’ve been practicing hard every day and hopefully that will pay for me.”
“I look forward to seeing what the future holds for him because he’s one of those guys who dreams big and knows he can achieve those dreams,” Garrett stated.
