Golfing Has Never Been Better With New Eyes
Eastern Oklahoma, OK

By: Austin Chadwick

I touched on the wonderful job that Eye Care Associates of Tulsa did with my LASIK Eye Surgery. Now I am seriously reaping the benefits.

Ever done something in life that you always refer to as one of the best decisions you have ever made? Well that is the way I feel about getting LASIK Surgery done on my eyes in November of last year. Dr. Dan Langley and Dr. Brian Williams of Eye Care Associates did a wonderful job in giving me “new eyes”.

Before November, my eye sight was so bad that my, much older, father would make fun of me for having “old man” eyes. I still stick to the comment I made in the fall about playing Major League Baseball if my eyes were as perfect as they are now.

Last month, our Collin County (Dallas, TX) HSSTM magazine was a big part of the 31st Annual Tom Landry Open Golf Tournament benefitting the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Along with being a part of such a great event, I got to do something that I have yet to do all year, play golf. Now granted I love my job and HSSTM keeps me busier than a dyslexic man in a speed-reading competition, but I also love to play golf and anytime I can find a way to play, I will.

With that being said, I can’t tell you how impressed I was with my vision on the golf course. Ever go into a Best Buy or Circuit City and see High Definition Television for the first time? That is what it was like playing golf after LASIK surgery. I could see everything. And the best part, I wasn’t worried about my contacts getting dirty, or irritated the entire time. It was the most fun I have had on a golf course since I can remember. My co-workers and peers were actually getting jealous that I was seeing flag pins, markers and lost golf balls better than anyone.

Needless to say that corrective eye surgery does not fix your golf swing, so there were plenty of times when I had to use my “new eyes” to find lost golf balls. But the overall experience of playing a round of golf in “High Definition” was incredible. It’s almost like I feel that I owe Dr. Langley and Dr. Williams for the rest of my life.

I know what you are thinking, people have told you that LASIK surgery is the greatest thing they have ever done. But with me, it truly is. I will promise you that if you are a golfer, play amateur sports in any capacity, or would just like to wake up in the morning without putting in or cleaning your contacts, then you will agree with me in my assessment of LASIK surgery.

I will personally make a wager with any of our readers that if you don’t come away from LASIK surgery with the thoughts of it being one of the best decisions you have ever made, then I will give you a personal apology for my ongoing endorsement of one of the best decisions that I have made.
