The first practice, the dreaded first day of school, the first scrimmage and the first game will all take place this month for many Eastern Oklahoma student-athletes. For Michael Doctor from Booker T. Washington and David Gordon from East Central the August magazine marks their first time on the cover of VYPE. These two stud athletes will meet in Week Two and you can let the fireworks begin when the two talented TPS rivals hook up.
Doctor has been starring since his sophomore year, accounting for more tackles than some teams combined. Gordon is….well let’s just say he is a stud. The guy is a freak who can do it all.

Broken Arrow pitcher Chelsea Lyon is first on many recruiters’ lists as the best pitcher in the state. The Broken Arrow program continues to churn out great talented softball players and Lyons belongs on that list. The team is loaded with great players and should make another run at a championship.

The first place people think of when you talk soccer is Soccer City. VYPE takes a deeper look into the world club soccer and the involvement Soccer City has with the team.

Muskogee football is alive and well with players like Erik Howell and Robert Thomas. Bill Huddleston, the voice of Rougher football, gives us insider information on the Legion of Doom and the team concept on offense.

Don’t pass up the NCAA feature and the cross country preview. If you haven’t built your profile on VYPE.com, then what are you waiting for? Build a profile, upload video and share photos with VYPE members across the country.

It’s such a special time of year and this issue marks the start of our fourth year in bringing Tulsa the best sports magazine ever. And for me personally it is a special time because I have been hooked. Yup. I have found the One and am getting ready to take the plunge….. Here goes.
