East Central Boys and Girls Take State Titles

The East Central track team won the 5A state championship thanks to strong relay teams and David Gordon. The Cards scored 44 of thier 94 points thanks to the relay teams. Gordon won the 100, 200 and was part of the 400 relay team and the 1600 relay team. Derio Long won the 110 hurdles for the Cards.
The girls team had to come from behind in the last event to beat Altus. Cornesha Wilkerson won the 200 meters and placed second in the 400. Tamra Grayson won the 400 and the relay team won the 1,600. The girls passed Altus in the final event winning a state title by 5 points, 80-75.
