McKinney North's sweep of the District 9-4A baseball and softball titles were reflected in the school's dominance of postseason awards.
North catcher Trey Sorrells was voted co-Most Valuable Player along with McKinney pitcher Zach Lee. North shortstop Kathy Shelton claimed softball MVP honors.
North's Nico Taylor was named Offensive Player of the Year and teammate Brandon Hollbaugh shared Defensive Player of the Year honors with McKinney's Caleb Spengler. Frisco got in on the baseball awards with coach Scott Cook winning Coach of the Year and Brian Rutledge was Pitcher of the Year.
North's Sarah Becker was voted Offensive Player of the Year and teammate Lindsey Post was selected Defensive Player of the Year. Yet another Dawg, Meredith Baker, was elected Newcomer of the Year and Dan Sedgwick was named Coach of the Year.
