The University Interscholastic League divides its football playoffs based on the student enrollment number of qualifying high schools. VYPE asked Dallas-area coaches their thoughts on the question: Does a school’s enrollment figure really affect the success of its football program?

We all know that a coach’s work is never done. After working all school year to lead their team to its fullest potential, Collin County coaches deserve to take a break. Here’s a sample of how some area coaches will spend their summer vacation.

They not only instruct your sons and daughters in how to be better athletes, but also serve as role models and examples on how to compete on the field and off. We thought we’d survey several Collin County coaches to ask them: What do you love about being a coach?

Many Collin County high school students journeyed to Padre Island or other sunny destinations for their spring break. Did they run into their coaches on the sandy beaches? HSSTM asked Collin County coaches how they planned to spend their week off from school. While some spring sports continued playing through the break, other coaches played it old school during their time off.

Coaches, athletic directors and fans long have debated the positives and negatives of holding all state final football games in a central location on the same weekend. Those in favor believe a central site will help promote the finals, build sponsorship and allow spectators to schedule their trip months in advance. Those against would prefer to control their own destiny, working with their opponents to determine a neutral stadium in the week prior to the game. We asked four Collin County football coaches for their opinions:
