How to...
Collin County, Texas
There are many different traits that make a winning quarterback, but according to former professional quarterback John Fitzgerald, one of the most important aspects of being a winning quarterback is getting the ball from center. “Probably the most forgotten and yet most important play in football is the quarterback-center exchange,” said
Fitzgerald, “It happens on every play whether you are running or passing, shotgun or under center, there is always... More

Hot List
Collin County, Texas
The calendar may be approaching Fall, but September in Texas can still be deadly, especially for athletes. Once an athlete is thirsty, they are already dehydrated. It can take up to 24 hours to re-hydrate if an athlete uses only water, therefore making it an insufficient fluid replacement during exercise. Athletes benefit from having a beverage that contains some carbohydrates for brain and muscle energy and sodium to increase fluid... More

The last time we saw Brown he was on the sideline watching another quarterback try to rally the 10-0 Eagles over Rowlett in a bi-district playoff game. Allen didn’t make it back that Saturday in... More

Why Plano West Baseball Will Win It All In 2008
Collin County, Texas
Anything can and normally does happen during the Texas high school baseball playoffs. Last season for example, the state’s top two teams, Katy and Flower Mound, both were bounced from the tournament in the regional quarters before they could reach the Sweet 16.
Unpredictable results happen every year, and that makes choosing a champion nearly impossible unless there is a team like The Woodlands had in 2006. The Highlanders... More

How to Prevent Female ACL Injuries
Collin County, Texas
It’s estimated that more than 3 million females participate in high school sports, a number that grows every year. One of unfortunate effects of the increase in female student-athletes is a spike in ACL injuries – and it’s not tied directly to participation. Studies show that female athletes run a higher risk of suffering from ACL injuries than men.
Why the disparity? Early studies have identified possible links to female... More
