The football playoffs are coming up and we wanted to know where the best place to play a playoff game is? Here’s what these coaches had to say:
Dennis McCray
Washington
"My favorite place is playing at home. But really playing at home or on the road in the playoffs is the best atmosphere. The quarterfinal games are better than the semifinal games. It's a more electric atmosphere than at neutral sites. You get a feeling there that you don't get at neutral sites. It's a big difference, a lot better atmosphere."
Jeff Myers
Kingfisher
"There's two places -- at home and at UCO. At home, the Kingfisher fans are so supportive and they are set up close to the field. They can all line up around the field so it's a neat atmosphere. At UCO, it's not too big and it's not too small. It's a really nice facility."
Phil Koons
Tuttle
"Our place is my favorite, It’s home. We don’t have to worry about going anywhere. We can warm up when we want. It’s more relaxed. And there’s no place like it. But neutral sites, they all sort of make me nervous."
Chad Broughton
Bethany
"We like playing at home, but UCO is a neat place, too. It's a great site and a good size -- it's not so big that it makes the crowd seem small. It has great facilities. For the kids, they will tell you it's at OU. They like playing at the stadium they see on TV all the time and where the Sooners play. But as far as a coaching standpoint, OU is just too big. It's a great experience there, but I like UCO because the crowd is right there behind you and it's easy to fill."
