What is one rule in high school basketball you would change and why?

I don't think we should have to wait until the ball hits the rim on a free throw. They did that to keep the lane clear but I don't know what difference it makes.

I think the defense being able to take a charge under the basket should be changed. There should be a safety area in high school similar to the pros and college where there is a semi-circle where you can't draw a charge.

Probably add at least a 40 second shot clock to high school basketball. That would develop the continuity between high school and college. Also just to speed up the game, you don't see a whole lot of holding the ball anymore in high school but just to prevent that. I think that would really make the high school game more exciting.

I would change the high school boundaries. I would say you can go to any school that you want to go to without any penalties. It would make it very competitive. Now a kid that stays at Broken Arrow, they have the largest high school in the state and not all those kids can play, but that way they could go somewhere else and play and be effective.
