What impact does it have on your team to have cheerleaders, the band or the dance team perform at the game?
|
Lavell Boyd Western High School |
 | We have a smaller band, but I've been around football for a long time and I think that when you have a band and cheerleaders it builds the camaraderie of the school. It's good to have people who are part of what you're doing when you go on the road or have a home game. It's very important to have a band or cheerleaders there to be part of what you're doing. I like when the band plays the school song. If the band plays the school song and the school gets to know the song, that can be a big thing. |

Clay Holbrook South Oldham High School |
 | We have a motto on our football team called "One-11" and that means that everyone has an impact on the game on Friday nights. We only play eleven players at a time, but everyone had something to do with the product on the field, be it a scout team player, encouraging one another, getting water for a player etc... We are all in it together. With this being said, I also include the cheerleaders, band and dance team. We love the support of all our programs and we support them. The band, cheerleaders and dance team all have an impact on the Friday night experience at South Oldham High. |

Jonathan Miller Fairdale High School |
 | Before the game, cheerleaders are great, making signs to get the school ready for the game. At the beginning of the game, our cheerleaders make a huge sign for the football players to run through and they do flips as we run through it. To be honest, during the game, players cannot hear the cheerleaders because of the distance from the field and they are focused on the game. Cheerleaders then turn their focus to the crowd and get them fired up during the game. |

Todd Shipley Shelby County High School |
 | All three have an important role in getting the fans involved in the game. The cheerleaders and dance team are constantly motivating the fans and when the band jumps in with a few tunes, the team just feels excitement in the air. It is like a shot of adrenaline. |
