Kickers get to learn from a former NFL kicker at a camp in Tulsa in early August

Kickers from Oklahoma and across the plains have a chance to get some tips about kicking from former Tulsa and NFL kicker Staurovsky. He, along with his kicking academy, are running the Great Plains High School Kickoff on Aug. 2 at LaFortune Stadium in Tulsa.
The competition is put on to identify college prospects. It is a competition to find the best high school kicker and punter on the plains. There will be prizes and college recruiting exposure for the winners. There will also be the Don Chandler Award for Outstanding Kicker to the overall champion.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the kickoff competition begins at 10 a.m. The fee is $100 for the entire competition. The events include:

Field goals – Big 12, Last Man Standing & Toe-to-Toe Brackets

Kick-offs – Distance, hang-time and accuracy

Punting – Hang time, distance & placement

Lecture, kicking tips and Q & A session with Coach Staurovsky

Flexibility development session with Faster Athlete’s Josh Reed


Players can enroll on http://www.perfectpracticeok.com/ or call 918-764-9175. The results will be available on their website and given to college recruiters.
Staurovsky played in the NFL for six years from 1987-1992 with three teams -- New England. N.Y. Jets and St. Louis Cardinals.
