Redemption - Despite having been pinned twice by Kyle Detmer in their first two meetings during the regular season, Pete Tapia of Winfield defended his 5A 152-pound state title in their third meeting of the year at the state tournament. The crowd at the Salthawk Activity Center in Hutchinson honored the two-time champ with the loudest roar of the day when he stepped up onto the first-place podium at the awards ceremony.
