Rivals.com national college basketball recruiting analyst Jerry Meyer reported Wednesday in his midweek report that Heights freshman Perry Ellis has scheduled an unofficial visit to the University of North Carolina for the Tar Heels' Jan. 17 game at home against Miami (Fla.). Heights' final game before their mid-season tournament at McPherson is on Friday, Jan. 16, at home against North High. The McPherson tournament begins on Jan. 22. Against North in Heights' second game of the season in December, Ellis scored 18 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. Heights is ranked No. 1 in the state of Kansas after defeating both Southeast and East before winter break. Ellis already made an unofficial visit to Kansas University at the end of the summer. KU coach Bill Self attended Ellis' first high school basketball game on Dec. 6 at Koch Arena - a 67-62 Heights win. North Carolina had been ranked No. 1 in the nation since season's start until their loss to Boston College last weekend.
