After tearing his ACL at the Pittsburg State football camp earlier this summer, Huldon Tharp's anxiety began. The stats and skills he had displayed in his junior season had vaulted him into the top tier of Kansas high school talent in the Class of 2009, but the injury raised questions as to whether recruiters would stick by his side.

Based on Tharp's announcement this week, Kansas University has. Tharp committed to the Jayhawks on Monday.

KU, along with other schools such as Colorado State, Missouri and Miami, offered Harp after his stellar junior campaign and didn't waver from that offer - not even when Tharp found out that he would miss his entire senior season.

Tharp was always confident that he would play again in college, but many schools were not as quick to believe that. Other schools' hesitance affected Tharp's choice immensely and it seems that it gave KU the clear edge in Tharp's mind. Whether Tharp will recover from the injury and give the Jayhawks the advantage with his superior talent in the future, time will tell.
