Bryce Brown of Wichita East is chasing history. Yes, he's one of the best backs in the country and he's committed to Miami, where he'll join his brother, Arthur, next year. But he still has some unfinished business in Wichita to tidy up first. Brown could become the second-leading rusher in Kansas prep history this season. Three of the past four seasons have given Kansas a new second-leading all-time rusher. Darrin Seiwert, now a 5'11, 228-pound tight end at Kansas State, took the spot in 2004 after not losing a game in his four-year career at Conway Springs. Jake Sharp of Salina Central, now a tailback at Kansas, took the title in 2005, before Logan Dold of Garden Plain, entering Kansas State as a freshman this fall, blew them both away in 2007. Entering his senior season this fall, Bryce Brown of Wichita East could bypass them all, even though he has played in only one state playoff game, while Dold, Sharp and Seiwert made it all the way through the playoffs to the state title game at least twice each.
