This season, Beech Grove senior Renee Masterson has continued impressing on cross country courses all around Central Indiana. After finishing ninth at the state meet as a junior, Masterson's senior campaign has included a first-place finish for the fourth straight year at the Whiteland Invite. With a run to the upcoming state meet looming, HSSTM quizzed her dad and her coach to see who knows Renee best.
Coach quote: "Renee is naturally talented, but she also continues to push herself to new levels of success," says Beech Grove girls cross country coach Cristen Cassler. "There is a passion and drive inside her that I can't explain - it's not only noticeable in her running, but also her high academic achievement and the way she reaches out to others around her."
