Although the staff at the magazine has never met her in person, all we hear is what a fine young lady Allie VandeWater really is. The Noblesville soccer midfielder was a 2007 First Team All-State selection by the Indiana Soccer Coaches Association, as well as the Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association. Not only that, she’s ranked in the top 10 percent of her class academically. Sounds good to us, so let’s quiz her mom and her coach to see who knows Allie best. Here’s a hint: it wasn’t really close.

“While some players have to learn leadership, Allie possesses this trait innately – not only by the way she handles herself both on and off the field, but in how she treats other players and classmates,” says Noblesville coach Mike Brady. “Her soccer skill is tremendous, though I’d have to say it’s her compassion towards others that make her such a positive influence with her teammates, both at practice and at school.”
